How Strike Helped Frontier Voice & Data Deliver Rugged, ADR-Compliant Tablet Mounting and Power Solutions for a Major Australian Enterprise

How Strike Supported a Multi-Site Enterprise Mobility Deployment for a Leading Agribusiness in Regional Queensland

Frontier Voice & Data is a regional Telstra Enterprise Partner and telecommunications and ICT solutions provider based in Townsville, Queensland. The company delivers end-to-end technology solutions, hardware, and managed services to enterprise and government customers.

As part of its work in the enterprise mobility sector, Frontier Voice & Data was invited to respond to a Request for Proposal (RFP) from a large agribusiness and renewable energy organisation operating across multiple sites in regional Queensland. The project required mobile device supply and management services to support field-based employees working in demanding operational environments.

The Challenge: Rugged Vehicle Mounting & Protection Across Multiple Sites

The proposed deployment involved tablets used by field-based employees across multiple operational locations. Frontier Voice & Data needed to complement its device and managed service offering with a complete range of rugged accessories capable of supporting the tablets throughout their working lifecycle.

The solution needed to address several practical requirements:

  • Protection for tablets used in demanding field environments
  • Secure, in-vehicle mounting
  • Power and data connectivity
  • Screen protection
  • Compatibility across multiple Samsung tablet models
  • Permanent and semi-permanent mounting options
  • Compliance with relevant in-vehicle safety requirements
  • Staged supply across multiple sites and deployment phases

The project was structured as an 18-month rolling deployment, with the end customer adopting a centralised distribution model. Products would be staged and delivered to Frontier Voice & Data’s Townsville branch before being allocated across the customer’s operational sites.

Frontier Voice & Data engaged Strike Group Australia to develop and supply the accessory component of its tender response.

Strike’s Approach: Coordinated Accessories, Tender Support & Compliance

Strike worked closely with Frontier Voice & Data to understand the end customer’s operational requirements, proposed device fleet, and deployment model.

Rather than supplying individual products in isolation, Strike developed a coordinated accessory package covering device protection, charging, connectivity, and vehicle mounting.

Strike also supported the tender process by providing:

  • Product specifications and supporting documentation
  • Company history and capability information
  • Crash-testing and Australian Design Rule (ADR) compliance documentation
  • Quantity-based pricing
  • Product availability and rollout planning
  • Reseller onboarding and ongoing technical support
  • Guidance on alternative vehicle-mounting configurations

This combination of products, documentation, and pre-sales assistance helped Frontier Voice & Data present a comprehensive and technically supported solution within its RFP response.

The Solution: Standardised Rugged Cradles, Cases & RAM Mounting Options

Strike developed a standardised accessory solution for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 and Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro, combining rugged cases with hand straps and lanyards, tempered-glass screen protectors, and power and data cradles configured for use with the protective cases.

RAM mounting components were incorporated to create secure, adjustable in-vehicle installations. Several configurations were proposed to accommodate different vehicles and operational requirements, including semi-permanent windscreen mounts, no-drill floor or seat-track mounts, and modular ball-mount systems.

Additional options, including Strike B3 antennas and Strike Protector cases, were also considered as part of the broader solution.

This modular approach allowed Frontier Voice & Data to tailor tablet configurations to different devices, vehicles, and working environments while maintaining a consistent overall deployment architecture.

The Rollout: Managing Phased Supply, Staging & Support

Following the tender process, Strike supported the rollout across several deployment phases and multiple Samsung Galaxy Tab Active models. The phased approach enabled Frontier Voice & Data to coordinate accessory supply with the end customer’s evolving device requirements and implementation schedule.

Products were staged and delivered centrally to Townsville, allowing Frontier Voice & Data to manage distribution across multiple operational sites. Strike supported stock planning and product availability throughout the rollout, while Brisbane-based assembly enabled responsive service and faster turnaround when replacement units or additional equipment were required.

The collaboration helped Frontier Voice & Data submit a comprehensive and well-supported proposal for a significant enterprise mobility deployment. Following submission, its bid was identified as the frontrunner.

Key project outcomes included:

  • A coordinated accessory solution covering protection, mounting, charging, and connectivity
  • Support for multiple Samsung rugged tablet models
  • Flexible permanent, semi-permanent, and no-drill vehicle-mounting options
  • ADR-compliant, crash-tested cradle solutions for greater confidence in vehicle installations
  • Technical and compliance documentation supporting the tender response
  • Centralis
  • ed staging and delivery aligned with Frontier Voice & Data’s distribution model
  • Quantity-based pricing and stock planning for a phased deployment
  • Responsive Australian-based assembly and support
  • 430 units successfully supplied during 2025
  • Continued supply and rollout support extending into 2026

A Collaborative Approach to Enterprise Mobility Delivery

The project was supported by close collaboration between Frontier Voice & Data and Strike throughout the tender, solution development, and rollout stages.

"Strike was a responsive and flexible supplier throughout the bid process, taking the time to understand both Frontier’s requirements and the customer’s unique operational needs. Their team worked closely with us to tailor the accessory solution, provide the supporting documentation we needed for the tender response, and help manage stock availability as the rollout progressed. That level of support gave us confidence that we could deliver a practical, fit-for-purpose solution across multiple sites and deployment stages."

— Iain Roots, Enterprise & Government Business Development Manager, Frontier Voice & Data

For Strike, the project demonstrated the value of supporting reseller partners beyond simple product supply. By contributing technical expertise, compliance documentation, flexible configurations, and ongoing rollout support, Strike helped Frontier Voice & Data develop a comprehensive response to a complex enterprise opportunity.

"Working with Frontier Voice on this large-scale enterprise opportunity was a great example of how Strike can support reseller partners with a complete, compliant accessory solution. From rugged cases and cradles to flexible vehicle mounting options, we gave the Frontier Voice team everything they needed to put forward a strong bid—and we’re proud to still be supporting that rollout well into 2026."

— Richard Aitsi, Account Manager, Strike Group Australia

By combining Frontier Voice & Data’s telecommunications and managed service capabilities with Strike’s expertise in rugged protection, charging, and vehicle mounting, the two organisations created a scalable solution suited to field operations, multiple device models, and a staged, multi-site deployment.

The project also demonstrates how a coordinated approach to device protection, mounting, power, connectivity, and deployment support can help technology partners address the operational complexity of enterprise mobility projects without compromising flexibility at the individual vehicle or site level.
