Custom Charging Solutions to Support Aged Care Operations

Overview

A technology services partner working across multiple aged care facilities required a large-scale charging solution for Samsung Galaxy XCover7 devices. These smartphones were used by carers throughout the day and night, so reliable multi-slot chargers were critical. The rollout spanned numerous sites across Australia, each requiring timely delivery, seamless functionality, and support for belt-clip protective cases.

Strike was selected to deliver a custom-engineered solution that included multi-bay chargers tailored to the XCover7 and backed by local manufacturing and responsive after-sales support.

The Challenge

  • Rapid delivery required to meet a tight rollout schedule across multiple care facilities

  • Initial charging compatibility issues due to the device’s unusually shallow USB-C port, which wasn’t reflected in manufacturer-supplied specs

  • Need for site-specific quantities, careful logistics coordination, and tailored shipment packaging

  • Urgent replacement of non-performing units discovered during onsite testing

The Solution

Fast Response & Technical Redesign

Strike responded quickly by halting further site shipments and performing full testing of each charger before dispatch. After identifying the issue with the charging port depth, Strike adjusted the cradle design and arranged for the return and replacement of affected units—all at no cost to the client.

Site-Specific Fulfilment Strategy

Our locally assembled 6-slot charging bays were then individually tested and prepared for deployment. PowerPorts and cables were packaged per site requirements, and our support team coordinated directly with care facilities and logistics contacts to ensure a smooth rollout.

The Result

Strike successfully resolved the technical and logistical issues and enabled a full-scale national rollout of multi-device charging solutions. The integrator and end users benefited from:

  • Redesigned and fully compatible multi-bay chargers

  • Fast replacement of non-compliant units

  • Direct support with on-site testing, returns, and fulfilment

  • Custom shipping coordination to aged care facilities across NSW, SA, and beyond
