IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Road Safety: Increased Road Enforcement During Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend

BRISBANE, June 3, 2015 – Most Australian states have recently announced increased traffic enforcement to keep drivers safe on the road. NSW Police has announced the implementation of double demerit points this upcoming Queens Birthday long weekend.

Crash statistics have shown that during holiday periods, the risk of having an accident increased severely due to the higher volume of vehicles on our roads.

Last month, QLD Road Minister Mark Bailey announced tougher penalties for repeat offenders breaking the law by holding their phones whilst driving

Having a Strike Alpha Cradle installed into a vehicle will not only reduce driver distraction but will also charge the phone and increase network coverage so drivers can remain connected. The law states that drivers are not allowed to use their phone behind the wheel unless it is attached into a commercially manufactured cradle.

According to Strike CEO Chris Ryan, “Police will always be vigilant in making sure that drivers & passengers are safe. This is the very reason why they implement tougher penalties during holidays when most people are out driving around enjoying the long weekend. The need to use a mobile device to help with navigation or use applications is quite essential. Hence, attaching it into a car cradle inside one’s vehicle would allow drivers to stay focused and connected whilst on the road.”

In celebration of the Queen’s Birthday, Strike also announced a weekend deal for drivers within Australia.

Strike customers who order a Strike Alpha Car Cradle can take advantage of the free shipping promo. The weekend deal is valid from 8 June 2015. Online customers can purchase via Strike’s website at www.strike.com.au and use the code “QUEEN” upon checkout to get their free shipping discount.
