Leading Australian business helps combat mobile black spots affecting rural communities
Media Release, January 2014
Many communities across rural Australia struggle with poor mobile phone reception, causing serious safety concerns in the event of a natural disaster or other emergencies.
While the government has recently recognised the need to improve regional mobile coverage with its $100 million Mobile Network Expansion Program, it will take four years to reach all affected rural areas.
Strike Group, Australia’s leading provider of Bluetooth car technologies, has a more immediate solution. It has recently released a new generation of advanced phone cradles, the Strike Alpha . This Australian designed, engineered and manufactured car cradle is guaranteed to boost mobile signal in rural areas, eliminating black spot problems.
“Unfortunately mobile coverage in Australia covers most of the population but not most of the land mass,” says Chris Ryan , CEO of Strike Group. “We want to help these communities who are experiencing service black spots, not only to improve quality of living but also to help avoid life - threatening incidents where lack of mobile coverage has seriously affected the outcomes.”
As well as the internal passive antenna specifically tuned for Australian networks, the cradle includes a FME male connector to allow for an external antenna fo r additional signal boosting. For example, the Strike B2 7dBi Heavy Duty Bull Bar Mount Antenna is high performance antenna especially designed to provide maximum range and performance in any Australian environment . T h e antenna's high gain and reliable per formance over GSM 850/900/1800/1900/2100MHz frequencies makes it ideal for rural areas. It has a removable whip and comes fitted with an FME connector and a bull bar mounting bracket which makes the installation quick and easy.
The Strike Alpha car cradl e is designed to fit the user’s phone perfectly and with its 2 Amp output it is one of the fastest car chargers available . I t b o asts multiple mounting options and an impressive three - year warranty. It is also the only car cradle with an embedded NFC (Near Field Communication) ch ip allowing NFC enabled phone users to automatically control phone functions when the device is placed in the Alpha Cradle* .
The Strike Alpha cradle is compatible with all Bluetooth car kits, adding versatility to functionality. It’s also fully pass through compatible, which means it can be used with any car kit, entertainment unit or even computer. The Strike Alpha can be professionally installed through/with power packs supplied or installed by the user using the supplied cigarette lighter charger. The Strike Alpha cradle accepts 12/24 volt charging which makes it great for both cars and trucks, and suitable for all contemporary Smartphone s.
