Google Pixel 5 Rumours, Specs, Release Date

A new competitor enters the competition for the best smartphone for 2020. Google Pixel 5 is officially making its appearance on September 30. The price range of Samsung’s S20 and Note20 as well as Apple’s iPhone 11 are expensive enough to break your bank. For the medium-range flagship from Google, what are the upgrades we’re expecting for Pixel 5?

Google Pixel 5 Release Date

Although rumours are saying that the press invites Google sent for a product launch on September 30 are for the launch of Google Pixel 5, it doesn’t really confirm it. But this rumoured launch is aligned with the previous unveiling for the Pixel line since it’s usually around early October. A release on September 30 would also be an excellent opening for Google’s October since pre-orders are said to be available on October 08.

Google Pixel 5 Price

The entry price for new smartphones can range from $1,000 and more. The competition for the flagship smartphone in the market is extremely tight. Competitors are continuously upgrading processors, cameras, storage, and other specifications that make the upgrades worth the price.

However, we’re not seeing this pricing for Google Pixel 5. Its rumored price is around $700 - $800 only. Rumours are saying that Google will be using a mid-range chipset, hence the price drop. But we’re not sure with this one yet.

Google Pixel 5 Design

Leaks show that Google Pixel 5’s design follows from the Google Pixel 4a. It says that it has a fingerprint scanner at the back too. We’ve already seen this design from years back, but I guess they’re not following the trend of in-display fingerprint scanners like the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.

Just a heads up on the colour too. Google Pixel 5 is rumoured to be available in black and green colours. It’s also smaller than the Google Pixel 4a.
