IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Striking Christmas Toy Run Cheer in Townsville

BRISBANE November 2010 – This Christmas, Townsville will celebrate three decades of toy run success. On December 11, 300-400 motorcycle riders will attend the event, which sees Santa deliver much needed gifts to children in need. The Salvation Army Townsville Toy Run is the country’s largest and each year more businesses are getting behind the great cause.

Strike, Australia’s leading supplier of Bluetooth and motorcycle accessories, is one of this year’s proud sponsors and have donated four motorcycle accessory devices, including two Strike Genius Motorcycle GPS devices and two Cardo Scala Rider Powersets.

Karina Prince, Treasurer and Membership Co-ordinator of the Townsville & Districts Motorcycle Riders Association, said she was very pleased to have Strike on board and was looking forward to working with Strike and other sponsors over the coming years to ensure a long-lasting relationship. “It’s great to see both local and national businesses who are now supporting the toy run,” Ms Prince said.

Chris Ryan, Strike’s CEO, said he was looking forward to the riders utilising Strike’s accessories for the toy run and was very pleased for his company to have the opportunity to be involved with such a great cause. “The Scala Rider Powersets will allow riders to communicate amongst themselves, whereas the Strike Genius Motorcycle GPS will assist riders with directions of where to go on the ride path,” Mr Ryan said.

The Salvation Army, the Townsville & Districts Motorcycle Riders Association and Strike would like to invite the community to also get behind the Christmas Charitable event. “Seeing the little kid’s faces really does make it all worthwhile. It’s a cause which definitely reiterates what Christmas is all about. Christmas is about giving and it’s so great that with the support of valued sponsors, we can make each and every year a special event and one that people will treasure,” Ms Prince said.
