Strike tries to keep Australian IP in Australia as CSIRO cuts jobs

BRISBANE, Nov. 27, 2014 – With recent job losses at the CSIRO Australian based Innovation House Strike is taking action.

Science journalist Julian Cribb, who used to work with the government agency, described the losses as “lobotomising” Australia.

Strike, Australia's leading provider of hands-free technologies, is opening its doors to the abundance of talent from the CSIRO. The company has launched an advertising campaign to attract former CSIRO employees who have a great idea and want to make it a reality.

“We know how important science and research are and, as an Australia based Innovation House, we are taking action and being part of the solution in keeping Australian IP in the country,” says road safety advocate and Strike CEO Chris Ryan.

According to Strike Managing Director Adam Rockett, “Research is such a vital tool for private companies to come up with better and innovative products, especially in the tech industry. Over the years, Strike has been recognized as a leading Australian design and innovation house that exports to the world. With this in mind are welcoming talented people with great ideas that need to be commercialised and brought to market.”

Strike is asking applicants to email csiro@strike.com.au with their details.
