Apple iPhone 7 vs Iphone 6 - Comparison of the two Apple Smartphones

Information about the iPhone 7 has just been released to the world, and we can clearly see some differences (and similarities, too) with the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 7 will be released this Friday 16th 2016.

Check out our review and comparison with the two phablets below. Let's see just how many of our rumours were correct.

HEADPHONE JACK

It is universally acknowledged that a smart phone, in possession of a screen, must be in possession of a headphone jack. Well actually, no, that’s not true at all. The iPhone 7 (screen, and all) has been revealed to not be in possession of a headphone jack. To understand the impact of this change, we must first look at its predecessor, the iPhone 6s. This is the iPhone 6s, and it clearly has a headphone jack. .

Apple wants to use their ‘courage’ to project them into the future, and their removal of the half-a-decade-old headphone jack proves this. Wading into new waters means letting go of the past. Or that’s why that say. .

There are still so many devices using the headphone jack that perhaps its removal has come slightly too forced. However, we must keep an open mind when it comes to critiquing technological advancement – and it is really an advancement. We can never know, in a year or two ‘jackless’ phones may just be the new now.
True, a few Lenovo phones have already affected this change in their models prior to Apple’s big decision, but this is no doubt a huge leap for Apple’s flagship iPhone 7 from the iPhone 6s.

NEW WAY TO LISTEN TO MUSIC

To rectify this issue, Apple has produced their own Bluetooth, cordless earphones: AirPods. The earbuds are installed with The Apple W1 radio chip, and come in their own case which can recharge them up to 24 hrs (as the earbuds themselves only last for 5 hrs at a time). The AirPods have motion sensors which allows the wearer to activate Siri or answer their phone calls.

Of course, if you still wanted to use your own earphones, Apple has included a 3.5-mm headphone jack to Lightening connector in with the iPhone 7.

Alongside this change with the headphone jack, the iPhone 7 has improved their speakers. It can now play sounds two times louder than that of its predecessors.

DESIGN

The iPhone 6s comes in silver, gold, rose gold, and black.

The iPhone 7 comes in all the above mentioned colours and an extra colour.

Apple has released one extra colour than the iPhone 6s: Jet Black2. There was a rumour about the phone being released in a dark blue hue; however, this is now debunked. To be honest, hearing about this new colour, one might ask why another black was chosen in lieu of another colour, like the dark blue. Well, perhaps if you want to feel what it’s like to possess a dark, energy emitting artefact, or a black hole, this new colour is for you.

WATER-RESISTANCE

Apple introduced a semi-waterproof iPhone 6s last year. They added seals and a gasket in the model to make it resistant to limited amounts of contact with water.

This year, Apple has improved this feature even further by making the iPhone 7 slightly more water resistant, though not enough for pro-longed immersion in liquid.

TOUCH

In 2015, the iPhone 6s was released. It introduced various touch functions; one of which included the 3D touch. This allowed the user to ‘peek and pop’ a look at their messages, and quickly change between apps. The iPhone 7 also has 3D touch. Apple has improved the touch feature of their phones to be even more sensitive.

DISPLAY

The screen of an iPhone 7 is 25% brighter than iPhone 6s. With its DCI-P3 wide-gamut, the iPhone 7 is capable of delivering more life-like, cinema-standard colours.

CAMERA

The iPhone 6s has an incredible 12 MP sensor camera, and 4K video function.

The iPhone 7 boasts an entirely new camera; it has a 12 MP camera, and 7 MP FaceTime camera. The camera in this new phone also has ‘optical image stabilisation’ and a Quad-LED True Tone flash.
The iPhone 7 Plus has two cameras, hence the ‘dual-camera’ feature. This powerful update also utilises 12MP cameras, and has improved zoom functions, too.

Both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 can take live photos.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE

The iPhone 7 has an A10 Fusion Chip.

Apple calls it the ‘most powerful chip ever in a smartphone’. This endows the phone with faster and more efficient processing power, which means it will save more power and therefore prolong the battery life. The iPhone 7 will have up to 2 more hours than the iPhone 6s, making it the phone with the longest battery life in iPhone history so far.

Every new iPhone comes with a new IOS system. Therefore, the iPhone 7 will introduce the IOS 10. It is a remarkable system designed specifically for the Apple devices. It has smooth graphics, perfect for gaming.
Additionally, the IOS 10 allows you to integrate your phone with your car via CarPlay.

DURABILITY

For a phone with a metal casing, some kinds of wear will be expected. Both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7 models have anodised aluminium finishes. Scratches will show up less in the silver versions, compared to the black and jet-black versions which is the shiniest.
